Why I love this video:

It’s not like those Albert Einstein/ Bill Gates examples that simply seem to emphasize that some people are just born smart. I purposefully avoid those examples because that mindset is so detrimental to learning (www.mathninja.wordpress.com).

It shows that success comes through failures. And EFFORTS despite those failures.

There used to be a Michael Jordan poster w/ his armspan and him holding a basketball in one hand that said something along the lines of the reason why he had x successes was because of his y amount of failures. I would pay good money for that poster if I can find it again…

I think I may have needed this more than my students this past weekend. =T
